Separate rooms would be my idea of heaven too..     I might allow a joining door or something.

And yeah Toid..   I have been a big bunged up (slight hay fever...  its coming to an end now)...   which is what I am putting my snoring down to.

Also... apparently... when nudged to be told I am snoring I am all apologetic..    (in my sleep!!!)... which is more than can be said for MrD when I have to kick thump wallop nudge him to stop doing the walrus mating call!

YES!!!      that sounds like MrD.

There are two very different (but equally loud & annoying) snores..    the in breath... as he sucks the back of his tongue, his tonsils & the clacky thing up the blowhole..     the, after about 10 mins of no breathing...   ok, 30 seconds of no breathing..     the massive out breath...   more a roar than a breath.

And repeat!

Although, Mr. L is VERY apologetic when I wake him, it doesn't help so much, does it?

He just went to see someone about the snoring, and the doctor said, "does your wife still sleep in the same room?"

Worry when you are asked if you still sleep in the same house

D'you get the unearthly moany noise too? and the weird rattly clicking inbreath?

I've been getting by on about 4 hours sleep a night for the last year .. it's driving me loopy!

aw Slinkeh...  you have my sympathy...

I am about to tempt fate here..     but - I haven't had one of those really bad nights for months & months now.     But we went through a phase where it was every night, and I probably averaged less than 4 hours..  in fact there were nights where I didn't get any sleep.     I wasn't working, so got into a cycle of sleeping during the day..   it was really depressing.

Things improved once MrD made the effort to help them improve..  i.e.  not getting all shirty when I would tell him to stop snoring, and turning over and facing the other way (so I couldn't hear the quiet build up snores), and he even went down & slept on the sofa a couple of times.   this was a breakthrough..   cos before that it was always me that went down to sleep on the sofa....   I felt this was unfair...  me being hounded from my bed.

This came about cos I gave him an ultimatum (prob the only one I have ever given him)..     you go down & sleep on the sofa.... OR you go to the doctors...     OR we sort out the spare room with a single bed for me to find refuge in.

He's been much better recently..

Now its my turn

there was a point when I was pretty sure thats what MrD had...      he actually ruptured his clacky dangly thing in the back of his throat with is snoring...   and he was always tired...    and he most definitely did stop breathing!

medically it was serious...   though the biggest risk to his health was the risk of me bludgeoning him to death with the bedside lamp

Ditty, there's no escape- we live in a flat and I can hear him from every room in the house! I swear ,there's been nights he did that weird rattly noise, and I caught myself thinking oh good, maybe it's a death rattle !

In fairness to him. he's tried all sorts of sprays, strips and even a gumshield- type contraption( attractive! !  , so he's made an effort, but he will not go to the doc!! I know what you mean about the sleeping during the day, I usually try to catch up on sleep on a Saturday afternoon .. what a waste of a weekend!

Do you do snoring lessons? I'll be your first pupil!

Mr D does the full 10 second pause before the outward snore!

like Slinkeh said...    I got beyond worrying, and started almost hoping
