I am about to tempt fate here.. but - I haven't had one of those really bad nights for months & months now. But we went through a phase where it was every night, and I probably averaged less than 4 hours.. in fact there were nights where I didn't get any sleep. I wasn't working, so got into a cycle of sleeping during the day.. it was really depressing.
Things improved once MrD made the effort to help them improve.. i.e. not getting all shirty when I would tell him to stop snoring, and turning over and facing the other way (so I couldn't hear the quiet build up snores), and he even went down & slept on the sofa a couple of times. this was a breakthrough.. cos before that it was always me that went down to sleep on the sofa.... I felt this was unfair... me being hounded from my bed.
This came about cos I gave him an ultimatum (prob the only one I have ever given him).. you go down & sleep on the sofa.... OR you go to the doctors... OR we sort out the spare room with a single bed for me to find refuge in.
He's been much better recently..
Now its my turn
Ditty, there's no escape- we live in a flat and I can hear him from every room in the house! I swear ,there's been nights he did that weird rattly noise, and I caught myself thinking oh good, maybe it's a death rattle !
In fairness to him. he's tried all sorts of sprays, strips and even a gumshield- type contraption( attractive! !  , so he's made an effort, but he will not go to the doc!! I know what you mean about the sleeping during the day, I usually try to catch up on sleep on a Saturday afternoon .. what a waste of a weekend!
Do you do snoring lessons? I'll be your first pupil!
