I remember making stewed apple and custard and taking it home on the bus in two kilner jars ....about 4 hours later

I was driving back from Carlisle one day...car two in front of me hit a pheasant, flung it up in the air and car in front hit it and I ended up with it's head on my windscreen...I was nearly in the first dyke
