You know what Saint.. I'm not sure I blame him. Sometimes it can just put you through hell for no real gain. Hopefully he's not in a lot of pain - and I assume he's being well looked after by you. There's something to be said for seeing your time out at home I think. Tough on the family though

I went through it with my dad
We all agreed (him included) to have the chemo after surgery, and knowing what we know now, I know I would never have said yes

He's in no pain, eating and sleeping without problem so ... symptom free at moment.
I think he'll last out his time as he is and will always be cared for
