I think there is a "darlo dimension" to it though.
I suspect one reason is that you, darlo, are regarded as such a friendly soul, and a shining example of courtesy and tolerance, that some of us may feel a little,..,shall we say "mean spirited" ...when we disagree with you.
I think your OP was accurate darlo. I am sure some posters feel they don't want to upset you because you are such a nice chap.
But the truth is that you are tolerant and you do respect the opinions of others - so there is not need for us to feel bad if we disagree (as you said in your first post.)
An example:
I know you like Alesha Dixon.
I don't like Alesha Dixon.
And I know that I have avoided commenting in order not to upset you.
But now you have said what you have said - I will enjoy disagreeing, if only to test your levels of niceness.
