Watched it on Sky premiere. Ricky Gervais was pretty close to the knuckle as per and made a joke about Scientology last night and then disappeared from presenting for over an hour. When he finally came back he looked like he'd been a prisoner of war, clearly dishevelled about summat....

In his closing speech his last words were 'And I'd like to thank God, for making me an Atheist'.

Piers Morgan tweeted that he's gonna ask what happened when he interviews him this week, but it may not make the air.
There were also rumours that Tom Cruise grabbed him backstage?

If anyone hears or reads anything as to what went on I'd love to know!

I found this on Yahoo News, it was part of a story entitled, Ricky Gervais too funny for Hollywood.

"Gervais's jokes were so incendiary that when he went missing during the second half of the show, the Twitterverse lit up with suggestions that he'd been fired backstage. Clearly, Gervais had done so much damage entertaining the viewers at home (or appalling them, depending on their belief in decorum), that he became the story of the night.

But so what? The Globes are considered one of the best, if not the best, awards show on television because of this feeling that anything goes and Champagne-fuelled winners and presenters could say just about anything. Adding Gervais into the mix last year was exactly the kind of tone that seemed to fit the primetime party and as funny as he was this year, there's little doubt many in the industry will think he went too far."

Hi Karma, I can't help you hun, and I wish I had watched this..If you find out when it's on, (or if anyone else knows,( I would appreciate it

The ceremony itself was a bit of all ado about nothing, flat and dull, and as always, hugely pretentious and plastic and faux adoration. (When in reality the knives are going in but they think people don't know )

The team who were doing the UK presenting for Sky to cover the awards were shockingly shite

There's a little bit more of what RG said here:

Throughout the show, the hard-hitting jokes lived on. Ricky called Bruce Willis “Ashton Kutcher’s dad,” introduced Robert Downey Jr. by referencing his Internet porn flick and his past struggle with addiction and also alluded that cast members of Sex and the City 2 were old enough to have appeared in Bonanza.

Ricky even made time to jab at Philip Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with some low blows suggesting Berk needed help off the toilet and assistance putting in his dentures.

But Berk wasn’t amused: “Ricky, next time you want me to help you qualify your movie, go to another guy.”

And our beloved Robert Pattinson was upstaged long with Olivia Wilde before they presented best foreign film together.

Rob, who looked a bit nervous at delivering his lines, was introduced by Ricky, who quipped: “Our next presenters are young and thin, with hair and teethâ€Ķ they’re lovely to look at.

“Which is just as well, because they’re presenting the award for best foreign language film. A category that no one in America cares about.”

OK! GALLERY: GODLEN GLOBE FASHION DAZZLES IN BEVERLY HILLSBefore his hosting debut last night, Ricky told the U.K. Press Association that he wasn’t going to take it east on Tinseltown.

“I think I’ll go just close enough to the edge but not go over it,” he said. “I’m not worried about the celebrities, they’re alright, they’re not scary!”

After listing Robert Downey`s Jnr`s "porn" films he says "He has done all of these films but most of you will probably know him best from such facilities as The Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County jail - please welcome Robert Downy Jnr!

Next....

"What can I say about our next two presenters"? "The first is an actor, producer, writer and director who`s movies have grossed over 3.5 billion dollars at the box office. He`s won 2 academy awards and 3 golden globes for his powerful and varied performances, starring in such films as Philadelphia, Forest Gump, Castaway, Apollo 13 and Saving Private Ryan.
The other...... is Tim Allen."
