Cupcake did make a very generalised statement, I agree. My concern is that how I have often read her posts saying that she feels 'picked on' and treated differently from other FMs who have made similar posts. I have no great feeling for Cupcake either way, I don't post here often enough, but it doesn't seem right to me that one FM can get away with posting some things and others can't just because they don't have the same group pf forum buddies.

For the amount of times 'clique, bulleh's' etc gets thrown in, I don't know why people don't just accept these do exist on this forum, always have done and always will. Cliques are on every forum and they won't ever stop but FMs should be more understanding of all newcomers and those outside of any clique who may feel isolated. Fine if nobody wants to let anyone else into the clique but don't pick on individuals for the sake of it

Hey it's going to be the highlight of my visit.  I would have said trip, but seeing as it's Amsterdam, the trip might be different all together. 

I like cups - I think we almost disagreed once - we never fell out.   I don't think ANYONE posts similarly to cups though.      I'm in the age group she ranted about this time - I didn't comment because it was just cuppers - it's what she does.  Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't.    I still the clique thing's a load of bollix tho

I've just read the relevant parts of the Trivial Things that Annoy thread, and from what I can see, Cupcake mentioning a certain age bracket and calling them rude, with an example, is what triggered a defensive reaction from a few posters here.

But there was also praise from others for the way she posted her rant.

Cupcake wasn't saying all the posters on here in that age bracket were rude 'old women', but that's the way it was interpreted by some.

I don't think she 'flounced' at all, she sounded genuinely fed up at the negative reaction(I don't think the Samantha Brick jokes helped!). But I think there has been oversensitivity on both sides here.

 I hope she wasn't,that'd be like saying all teenagers are Frankie Cocozza's ,god forbid.

As I was the one who mentioned bullehs and cliques (although I did say that I didn't want to use that word) let me reiterate.

I didn't see the altercation in question, I was away for a few days. I have no idea if it was that which prompted Cupcake to post this thread or the culmination of lots of what she considered to be unfair picking.

But I do think that she gets a hard deal compared to some people on this forum. Some of it is self induced because she posts in a very forthright way about controversial subjects and that gets a reaction that isn't always measured. I have seen people on here get away with a lot worse and not get pulled up about it.

My point about cliques/bullehs wasn't actually related as such to Cupcake but to another thread on here where one person was fighting their corner against the majority of the forum. Fair enough that most fms seemed to disagree with the points this fm was making but then the people who disagreed starting posting sarcastic comments not related to the discussion and laughing at eachothers sarcasm and that fm. When several people were doing it I saw that as ganging up and said so at the time. Since then those fms don't chat to me - so be it. I'm not losing sleep over it just stating what happened.

If you don't see it then fair enough - but some of us do and are saying so

Soops don't worry about it.  I've only made jokes so far within the thread, but now I am going to say.  

To me it's a thread with double standards, just a few weeks ago we had someone posting about going off, yes they're still here, but when that thread became a little too much, we had some FM's saying they felt uncomfortable talking about the flouncer when they weren't here, then it got locked.  In my opinion some of the same people are happily posting in this thread.
