I'm confused, I thought that is what I said in the whole of my post not just that bit. .  I was commenting on the fact that there was a flounce cos the OP didn't like the fact people disagreed, that is all...  [she announced her flounce in the things that niggle thread where she got wound up then did a flounce thread] .. and maybe I was also a bit concerned at the accusations that people were being picked on as being a tad unfair and which is a common theme for this person tbh...  I was suggesting, instead of mollycoddling the person with hugs and awwws and aahs and don't goes, that if you don't like the heat you need to get out of the kitchen for a bit til you cool down... come back when you are refreshed...

don't get me wrong I love her rants, in part cos of how angry and controversial they can be sometimes ..   they crack me up even if sometimes I go at some of the more venomous ones..

having said that I love a good flounce thread..  but am now wondering what the eck a Hexie is

Well, I posted honestly in a reply to Cups and my goodness that hasn't gone  down well either, to say the very least!

Accusations of bullying, picking, cliques, big 'I ams' etc. This is beginning to feel like: poor hard done by innocent Cups, being picked on by the nasty Supes and it's all Supe's  fault that she's flounced we've lost a forum member. And all because I happened to disagree with her on one single occasion The irony is, I have no problem with Cups, I usually have a laugh with her, although tbf, I wouldn't want her blood pressure /to be q so angry with the world! 

Wonders if that means it's now my turn to post a poor me flouncy thread looking for sympathy and for people to stick up for me?.....Sorry to disappoint, but, nah, that's really not my style!

I ask myself why we can't debate (even uncomfortable stuff) without it turning into something that makes matters worse instead of better.

I thought our community was bigger than that.

There are those who are for Cupcake and those who are not, but we shouldn't be afraid of discussing if Cupcake's experience is solely her experience or more widespread.  That's the main reason I asked Lee for her perspective.  If we want to keep our community going and attract new people, surely some things should be highlighted to make this a better place.

Supe's I have no idea what posts you mean tbh,I could have read  it all wrong but my interpretation was Cupcake meant in general how she was feeling here.I've missed lots not being here for months ,that goes without saying,I wasn't referring to you in my post.I apologise if you felt I was .I can and do understand if she feels she needs to take some time away,it can only do good .

Well Aquarius, the way this has been going, (and maybe this is me being oversensitive?) it's not looking great. A few people, (including me to begin with,) disagreed with a sweeping statement by Cups where she stated that most rude people are women in the 50-70ish age group. There was no big row, whoo haa, or nasty comments, just an immediate strop about being picked on, followed by this flouncy thread and, well, here we are, god knows how many posts later with the usual, clique, bulleh etc. accusations being thrown about

I haven't got any views on Cupcake either way - I haven't read that many of her posts.  But surely this thread just serves as a prime example of what a ridiculous idea it would be for any member of this forum to act as a mod?!
