I really enjoyed Fleet Foxes last night, their set was stunning. U2 were soulless in comparison, IMO.

Not interested at all... I don't think that rock festivals are quite what they used to be... there is something of a pretentiousness and predictability about them TBH, and they seem so contrived. The people I know who go, have little interest in rock music and havent heard of most of the acts, and could barely name hardly any hits by them.
They're like the folk who go around wearing Rolling stones and Beatles t-shirts to look cool and 'hipster;' but couldnt name more than one band member or more than three hits. Sorry, but out of the people that 'I' know, the ones who are going to Glastonbury, are the type who go to these kind of things, just to say they have been, rather than because they actually desperately want to go.
And as someone has said here, the lineup is dire anyway. I wouldnt go if it was free.ïŧŋ
I would go if it was free, because there are definitely still some hidden musical gems to be found amongst the pretentiousness.......like Fleet Foxes last night.
Good old BB - 86 and still pluckin'
Noah and the whale
L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.
I'm watching The Horrors
(never heard of them before )
On the red button Rexicle?
Yup - although hubby is in charge of the red button, and he has decided The Horrors are carp
Looking forward to Coldplay?
Ooooo! The Kills on the red button
Looking forward to Coldplay?
Only if I can't find any wet paint to watch drying

hehe
I fell asleep (before Coldplay - is that a first?)
I wanted to see them though, as I've never seen them live and they must (surely?) have flashes of good. Did they? What were they like?
I put coldplay on.. like Rexi says.. cos I hoped to perhaps see or hear something to help me understand the hype.
i swear.. I still don't get it
I'm not mad keen on Elbow.. but I get it! I can appreciate what it is people like.. I just don't get that with Coldplay. I just hear bland.
My daughter has been there since Tuesday. I am sooooooo jellus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coldplay - music that makes you want to kill yourself
Loved this when Jessie pulled this girl out the crowd to sing with her.
I wouldnt go if it was free.ïŧŋ
I wouldn't go if they paid me. Mudbath piss take.
And the idea of tossers like la Moss swanning it with VIP passes - nah, no way
Is Paul Simon one of the 'turns' this year?
Gastonbury doesn't really interest me any more - I think my festival days are over and besides I love my home comforts too much
My niece is coming over from Ireland Friday coming to get ready for the Sonisphere festival the week after - I was going to go when I thought Rammstein were playing but as they aren't I decided not to go

innit! especially "Yellow"
I do agree with Joe in a way... the crowd were loving them.. and there was a bit of audience participation n all that.
If I'd had to choose between U2 or Coldplay... no.. I couldn't do it.. I would actually have had to go & listen to U2 (with my eyes closed so I couldn't see Mr Pretentious)... and hope that they played some of their old stuff
I do wonder what the Hothouse Flowers were like.. & The Stereo MC's... I used to like both of them.. was surprised to see them on the line up..
Did someone dig them out of suspended animation or sommat

Nothing to do with the music but he was close to Cameron.
I love Elbow. Coldplay are a bit dismal, except for a few songs. U2 have disappeared up their own arses. Noah and the Whale were interesting!
Paul Simon performed as if he was worrying about missing his bus home and came across as being a bit surly at his interview, but he was feeling ill so I'll let him off
We took the kids to V Festival when they were little (They wanted to see Nickelback).. we were just preparing to take them home.. they were knackered.. and the chemical brothers came on..
It sounded soooo good. Mr Ditty & I just kept looking at each other and mouthing "I don't want to goooo".. but we had to really.. was no place for little kids.
I missed Elbow but, thanks to the wonder of the i-player thing, I can download their sesh and watch it later.
I agree with what most folk have been saying about U2. And as for Bono - well, anyone who wears sunglasses indoors is a bit of a knob in my book anyway

agreed!*
*the exception to this rule is when they are worn on top of the head, cos there are no headbands in the house, & hair keeps getting in your eyes/mouth/dinner
They are not sunglasses... oh no Bono wears tinted safety glasses to protect his eyes when he sticks his head up his arse on a regular basis
Z.

Possibly the least rock n roll band, ever! Which is a shame cos they have some good songs
Coldplays set at least felt like a RnR gig (allbeit at the student end of the spectrum)
