Not interested at all...    I don't think that rock festivals are quite what they used to be... there is something of a pretentiousness and predictability about them TBH, and they seem so contrived.  The people I know who go, have little interest in rock music and havent heard of most of the acts, and could barely name hardly any hits by them.

They're like the folk who go around wearing Rolling stones and Beatles t-shirts to look cool and 'hipster;' but couldnt name more than one band member or more than three hits. Sorry, but out of the people that 'I' know, the ones who are going to Glastonbury, are the type who go to these kind of things, just to say they have been, rather than because they actually desperately want to go.

And as someone has said here, the lineup is dire anyway.    I wouldnt go if it was free.ïŧŋ

I fell asleep (before Coldplay - is that a first?)

I wanted to see them though, as I've never seen them live and they must (surely?) have flashes of good. Did they? What were they like?

i swear..   I still don't get it

I'm not mad keen on Elbow..   but I get it!   I can appreciate what it is people like..     I just don't get that with Coldplay.   I just hear bland.

Coldplay - music that makes you want to kill yourself

Gastonbury doesn't really interest me any more - I think my festival days are over and besides I love my home comforts too much

My niece is coming over from Ireland Friday coming to get ready for the Sonisphere festival the week after - I was going to go when I thought Rammstein were playing but as they aren't I decided not to go

innit!      especially "Yellow"

I do agree with Joe in a way...     the crowd were loving them..   and there was a bit of audience participation n all that.

If I'd had to choose between U2 or Coldplay...    no.. I couldn't do it..  I would actually have had to go & listen to U2 (with my eyes closed so I couldn't see Mr Pretentious)... and hope that they played some of their old stuff

It sounded soooo good.   Mr Ditty & I just kept looking at each other and mouthing "I don't want to goooo"..   but we had to really..    was no place for little kids.

agreed!*

*the exception to this rule is when they are worn on top of the head, cos there are no headbands in the house, & hair keeps getting in your eyes/mouth/dinner

Z.

Possibly the least rock n roll band, ever! Which is a shame cos they have some good songs

Coldplays set at least felt like a  RnR gig (allbeit at the student end of the spectrum)
