I have been watching the BBC coverage of G2013 and I am completely underwhelmed by a lot of the bands/artists featured.
When did music become so bland and formulaic?
Looking through the line-up the majority of the artists that would interest me are not appearing on the major stages.

As you can tell my taste is impeccable.
Just listening to Noah and the Whale and it's just so pedestrian songwriting. I'm sure that in 10 years no one will be playing it. Certainly no Psycho Killer to name just one classic tune.

Just had them on too and the last some, really left me cold, I just don't get how they sell records especially when I hear people like Neil Young (who I've really only started to listen to in earnest). His songwriting is light years away from this stuff.

I believe tickets for the upcoming Stones Hyde Park gigs started at ÂĢ100 so i suppose ÂĢ200 for a weekend Glasto ticket is reasonable value.
Bobby Womack would top my list of "must see" acts if i were there this weekend - followed by the Stones and Elvis Costello!

It's been bland and formulaic (for the main part) for years! IMO
I'm trying to give it a good go Erin. Elvis Costello now, unfortunately although he has written some good songs I have never liked his voice, it sounds like he is being throttled.

It should have read the late part of the early 90's, but more so from the mid 90's. I was pretty much OK up to '89.
