My brother had one with 3 children and it never broke or chipped, his wife would put a large fitted cot sheet on it to stop the table cloth from sliding when she wanted it covered....

Mine is glass Issy,it's round but drop leaf,the drop leaf are clear glass,the rest is etched glass which is underneath obviously,legs and other bits are chrome,chairs are cream leather and chrome....I really like it tbh,I have a runner down the centre and when we're eating place mats are used off course....I clean it using glass cleaner and a micro fibre cloth but give it a quick wipe over after each meal with a chamois,it's as easy to maintain as a wood table imo.

I had one but got rid,between the dust and fingerprints I was always cleaning it.
They do look good if you buy it as an orniment ,but not practical if you plan on using it to dine .
I now have a very large oak table and I love it,I have six matching oak chairs ,4 are Chocolate and 2 are cream leather.

Mine is solid marble ... which is fine in the summer, but blinking cold in the winter

Be careful you dont scratch the glass.It's easily done.

mine is just plain glass   but i find windolene spray and kitchen towel gets rid of the fingerprintz lol

I found that a build up of products used to clean the glass ended up like a film on the glass.
I also made the mistake of going underneath the bliddy table to clean the glass and I was left with streaks,I didnt know if they were on the top or bottom . It drove me insane.
DONT BUY A GLASS TABLE.

The chamois removes any build up I find Erin,also when cleaning glass be it windows or whatever clean in different directions on either side,that way streaks are easy to spot and you know which side they're on.

Neither do I wish to appear weird, vulgar, or uncouth, but it's in the same division as people who show you around their house, and you note that the master bedroom has mirrored wardrobes all down one side............................... I should imagine.

We have a glass topped coffee table ( now in the back room waiting to be recycled) and glass shelved unit and glass shelved TV unit. It needs dusting on a reg(every second day) but as I'm a clean when needs too kinda person it doesn't bother me too much that they are covered in dust and finger prints.
although I do she my aunt twitching whenever she visits.
