The mother needs handing a community service sentence for wasting the time of children's services.

The student in question needs to get a reality check. "left traumatised" silly girl.

We (the UK) need to stop these American prom events. I don't like the pressure it puts on families to spend loads on their kids. There's no justification for them (and don't say to me it's a way the kids can say goodbye ...blah blah blah). I am still in touch with 7 of my school mates and we did not have a prom.

Rant over.

And no, its not newsworthy Yogi.

I agree with you re the prom. Next door neighbours daughter went to one last week - we had a limo outside and all the girls glammed up. Money spent on fake tans, dresses, after prom party outfits, hair do's, tickets for the do etc. Absolutely wonderful for those that can afford it ............what about those who can't?

I notice she came under the threshold of points needed because of her 'behaviour'  given this little stunt, I'd say she was a right little madam used to getting her own way.  Obviously a staged stunt as she had been told she wasn't allowed yet turned up at with the press

don't get me started on the dress - her mother was robbed

I had to laugh at the FB page. . the spelling was atrocious and that was the mothers

I had to stop reading the comments in the end tho cos it was full of the sort of mothers that think their little 'angels' can do no wrong and get all up in arms if the kids get a telling off or punished at school... I hate that sort of mother with a passion..

if they taught their kids right and wrong at home from a young age there wouldn't be tellings off by teachers at school to moan about.. in fact they should be on the side of the teacher if the kid has done wrong..  but of course in their heads their little preciouses can do no wrong and being naughty is just them being cute and expressing themselves

Seriously? She was told she couldn't go and wasn't allowed in when she turned up anyway..... wheres the story in that?

Olly i feel exactly the same.... kids being given everything and showing absolutely no respect for anything or anyone really winds me up! There's a few parents like that at my kids school and their kids are right little brats as a result. On the odd occasion my son has been told off at school i back the teachers completely and punish him at home too!

Anyone who spendsÂĢ3oo on a prom dress is a complete idiot and should be made to work in a Calcutta orphanage for a year.

I say this because my daughter has just been to hers and some foolish parents spend almost a grand on it all....my girl and her best friend spent ÂĢ30each on a dress and ÂĢ2.99 on some fake tan and they both looked amazing.....I would put a photo up if I knew how

gawd that was the bit I dreaded the most. .I just knew my mother was going to go ape at me if I was norty at school. . like any kid I was naughty now and then but often  pulled back from certain things, and risked the inevitable teasing that went along with saying no from my peers, cos I was far too scared my mum would find out and believe me the odd norty thing I did do she always found out cos a lot of people knew her and therefore knew me by association ..

I noticed that too, the group protesting the treatment of their special snowflakes by the meanie bully teachers was full of people with a tenuous grasp of the English language

oh and â€˜I had the dress made by a fashion designer in Manchester' - they've certainly seen her coming haven't they? ÂĢ300 for that

When I told my Mum I wasn't allowed to go to my prom I was just told to take my oil and there was no way she was going to speak to the teachers about it.

I was raging I wasn't allowed to go but there was no way I was going to show myself up and try to get in anyway.  The girl knew she wasn't allowed to go but just thought she was too important to be turned away at the door.  Taking a camera crew just takes the biscuit....she really assumed the teachers wouldn't be able to say no after all that.  Ha bloody ha, I'm glad the teachers stuck to their guns.

Well done Amythist on spending just ÂĢ32.99, that is the way to do it
