I'm sure that there is a way around it. These are exciting times as the law struggles to adapt to new technology.

If he hadn't cheated on his wife, there wouldn't have been anything to "twitter"  about.

Instead of getting injunctions and trying to sue people, he should be concentrating his energies on his family.

This latest legal move will only add fuel to the fire and ensure this story runs and runs.

Weeks before it went on Twitter it was being discussed on here, and that footballers name was mentioned (allegedly - a la Hislop).

 

Twitter just has a few more members than Gaga - those of you in that thread should be worried in case you get a knock on the door from the Internet police today

It may be that the system is using the footballer, whoever he is, as some sort of vanguard to protect the injunction set up and his family don't come into it. I wish him luck. Of course in my day gossipers were quite happy to park their forearms on the garden wall or twitch an occasional curtain.

I'm not fussed about footballers and so called celebrities love lives,however I  do hope he doesn't get anywhere with this suing etc.I'm more worried by big business and conglomerates trying to keep all their misdeeds quiet.

It's just been on the main news, although they didn't name the person who brought the injunction.

I know it's been mentioned on there, but only after it was leaked on Twitter, so FB's probably OK.

Yogi, as I understand it, all they're trying to do is find out who leaked it (breached the injunction) in the first place.

 

The lawsuit is supposedly to force Twitter to reveal the names of the perpetrators.

That may have been the intention, Fluffy but it has certainly annoyed the Tweeters and the footballer may well have stirred up a hornet's nest for himself.
