We had a release last night which probably caused the issues you were having last night (the release and the aftermath). We've been working all day to figure out the issue, and we finally have a bead on it. So, there's a light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks Lori. Yesterday was a frustrating day for everyone and we really appreciate your help in sorting it out.

Lori, moonie had been getting the whirling cogs issue today but I suggested clearing the browser cache and that seems to have sorted that out.

Ollie posted that the label which should appear over avatars wasn't working:

but that seem's to be a different issue and others haven't had problems. So I've given some tips as I think that's more likely to be an issue with the browser Ollie uses rather than a forum issue. Ollie hasn't come back yet to say if any of my tips have worked.

Oh, I posted before I saw this. At least no robots.

Thanks, El Loro, that helps!

No I still don't get any of the pop up info boxes giving a date or time or who an avi belongs to..   El Loro's tips were not relevant to the problem, I did say that to him, it is a display issue.. when I run my mouse over the front page it highlights each individual thread as a whole not the Avi separately to enable the info pop up box so I have no idea who started a thread and also cannot see the time of a post  as the hover over doesn't work on the 'time' thing either, hasn't done for a long time..

I use a pop up and add blocker. .turning them off makes no difference  I still don't get the hover boxes.. I use FF 22 on XP mainly but also on Win 7 too.. I also use an add on called coolpreviews which opens a hover thread rather than having to open a whole tab for a thread. .turning that off makes no difference either.. I tried all that before I reported the problem tho. . . it's really only a pain if I open a thread I wouldn't usually open if I'd had an idea who started it and what it was going to be about. .

Hi, Olly:

It DOES sound like a browser issue that is specific to your setup. I can't even begin to try to replicate your setup to figure out the issue, but it sure sounds like the coolpreviews is acting like it's on, even when it's not (not that *I* know about these things).

If you get so frustrated with it that you just can't handle it anymore, you can submit a support topic here: http://help.socialstrata.com and someone much more technical than I can try to help you.

Lori

thanks Lori ..it's been like this for a long time I only mentioned it in this or some other thread when people were mentioning other stuff and twas just as an aside. .

BB will be over soon so hopefully a bit easier to remember what thread is started by whom and which ones to avoid. .if people keep the same avi's that is.. the spam ones are easier to spot as the index is usually all of the same Avi down the side. .it's when I open a good night one by accident that I get a tad pee'd off for having wasted my time. .or some other random spam stuff.. or even worse. .'X**S stuff outside of December

I still would like to know what the time is when a post is made not  a rough time as in the eg 3 hrs ago stuff. . leave that for lazy FB or Twitter and give us a proper clock back..  aint gonna happen tho I know
