How brilliant. What a wonderfully rewarding job that woman/doctor/technician has - imagine being part of that. You'd go home from work with the biggest smile on your face wouldn't you?

I couldn't do that job, it would cost me a fortune in tissues and I would have constant puffy eyes.

I've been trying to imagine what it must be like to hear for the first time. We take it for granted I would say.

Uplifting nonetheless.

I am partially deaf in my left ear. A few years ago after a heavy cold my ear drum perforated in my right ear. I was practically totally deaf for about a month .....I can't even begin to tell you what it was like. So isolating, spooky even especially when you don't hear footsteps (even your own) and someone just appears beside you. Scary crossing the road too - you'd be amazed how much we rely on our hearing without even realising
