I'd rather if they were insulting of HMs that they were like that with all of them.
Also, I'm not sure how much he is really interested and watches the show beyond what he has to. His opinions often just seem to mirror what the general Endemol stance on HMs is.
O'Dreary wasn't that great either. But Brand was funnier (which tempered people taking his opinions seriously or too hard) and had at least a bit of charisma
