I'm not a fan of 'Gorgeous'.  I think he likes the sound of his own voice too much and while I opposed the Iraq war, his sucking up to Saddam was nauseating and ethically bankrupt.  He knew what Saddam and his murderous regime had been up to but still blew smoke up his ass, as mericans say.

There was absolutey no need for him to attend the hearing: it's common - especially for foreign witnesses, who are under no legal compunction - to give written testimony, and that's what the committee were expecting. Galloway, however, couldn't turn down the opportunity for showboating in front of the cameras.

Politically, many of those on the committee actually agreed with much of what Galloway's said, which is why they were so annoyed at him attacking them. The final report asertained that  Galloway "knowingly made false or misleading statements under oath", and provided evidence that he and his wife had indeed improperly received money after all. But of course all that's forgotten now in favour of Galloway's histrionics...

I dunno. Right now I'm apolitical - couldn't give a monkeys in late 2020. Politicians are amateurs. All dressed up and one place to go. I thought he done alright and I can see right through him like yersel. Still hope he wins. SNP - times up. It's accountability.
