I think Lancome Miracle is quite long lasting and I've read some good reviews, but I'm also thinking there's no reason why you shouldn't continue with the Youth Dew.

Hi Annoca  I dont think age comes into it, if you wear a perfume that smells nice on you that is what counts,I tend to buy the perfume lotion as well,I put that on first and then the perfume and the fragrance lasts,if I only use the perfume it does not last on me, I buy what smells nice on me

I honestly don't think your age should be a barrier to wearing a scent that you like. My mum has worn the same perfume, Guerlain's Shalimar, since she was in her early 20's and she turned 60 this year. Same with my dad whose worn Pennhaligon's Douro for years. My dad took me shopping for my signature scent when I was 16 and I've worn Guerlain's L'Heure Bleu ever since and I'm 38 now and I have no intention of stopping wearing it. Everytime I smell Shalimar or Douro I always think of my mum and dad.

My mom used to wear that she now favours Chanel no 5 which is lovely


why can't you wear the youth dew still if you like it?

The best thing to do is go to a large department store like House of Fraser or Selfriges. Tell the sales assistant what you like and could they suggest something else. They will get you to try testers which best suits what you've asked for and hopefully that way you should have something.


I do that when I fancy buying my husband different aftershaves, I tell them what he wears and if they could suggest something similar to that fragrance.

I never know what perfume to buy or ask for. I was a Patchouli (sp) kid of the 70s and still have some that I sniff every now and again.

I love perfume.
Regardless if the market it is aimed at, if you like it you like it.
Perhaps you have grown tired of Youth Dew Anocca?.
A root around the perfume counters in a department store is what's needed...

Age has got bugger all to do with anything! If you like the scent use it.I'm 53 my fav perfume at the moment is "Alien" by Thiery Mugler   ,he brought  out a summer one...thinks! can't remember it's name.Very lemony..Ah "Sunessence|"

I kind of second Shizzle's question:

i)  why does she not want to use it any more?
ii) does she still likes it?



If she still likes it, use it, easy.

If she does not like it any more, then why not?  Then maybe our resident beauticians can help

I still love Youth Dew - but was wondering if other people might think I was trying to hang onto my youth.

It is a perfume that has happy memories for me and is also one which lasts on my skin.

I was given a present of Celene Dions perfume a month ago and while it is lovely, it is "gone" by the time I reach the front door!!!

Most of you think that I should continue to use Youth Dew so I may as well continue to do so - unless something similar amd longlasting comes along.

Same thing happened to me Annoca. I used Miss Dior for years. Suddenly it didn't work for me any more. Now I use Chanel Allure... and No.5 in evenings when I'm up to no good!  
First thing to establish is if you're a floral/fruity sort of gal, or prefer a muskier scent.
