Okay a lot have guessed what inspired me to start this thread. The 'Cure the cancer, Stephanie needs to leave' thread and the number of people who took offence to it.



Because I seen something on a certain football team's forum not so long ago that went something like 'Cure the cancer, [certain players name] needs to go'. then it went on to say he just shouts and balls at the younger players shattering their confidence, he is a cancer in that team and we won't be cure of it until he's gone.... and not ONE person got offended, hundreds of people contributed to the discussion and not one person questioned the use of the word 'cancer'.



That, among other things is what inspired me to start this thread.

I know what you mean, I watch my steps on this forum... I remember a while back I used a word that offended a few. On the bluemoon city forum we go around calling each other c-nts

They're probably all frothing at the mouth on BBC's Have Your Say Or making tin foil hats and building a nuclear shelter under the stairs...

Ah I didn't know about the 'cancer' comment, but it's a common phrase that you see and hear in everyday usage.
You often hear people saying, when advocating a particular course of action, "They need to do so and so to cut the cancer out"
I suppose if you think about it that some people could be offended. Personally I lost both my parents to cancer and the phrase doesn't offend me but everyone is different I guess
