When I heard the news, I felt a simultaneous collective sign of despair by the whole country.

That's the first part of the summer ruined.

Brexit, local elections now a general election. What a summer we are in for 

Now we'll see who'll get off their arses and vote, and I'll bet it's significantly less than the EU one! 

A labour MP has just asked, about 20 minutes ago in the House Of Commons...what does May know that we don't?

me either...if the Americans can vote for Trump, I wouldn't be suprised if she walks it  even though they are demolishing the NHS. children suffering from malnutrition because of unjust sanctioning, schools falling apart whilst they create more grammar schools... the list is neverending, and we won't even got down the 70 billion tax giveaways to the richest in society

Not with Corbyn. Leaders should be marmalade and not marmite   

Why, because he focuses on what's better for the people?  All he wants is a fair and just society and until some people can see that well........

but, they also said no elections before the five year term was over... 

It's looking blatantly obvious she was going to lose her majority due to police charges and that's why she's called it. She's hoping for a landslide so she can hang on to power even if these MP's are kicked out of their seats. At least that's what's being reported apart from the BBC
