Irish guitarist Gary Moore has died at the age of 58

 

The former Thin Lizzy star's body was found at the Kempinski Hotel on the Costa del Sol in Spain on Sunday (06Feb10). Moore was holidaying at the time of his death.

The cause of death has not been released.

Born in Belfast in 1952, Moore, real name Robert William Gary Moore, enjoyed chart success with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist with hits like Out in the Fields and Empty Rooms.

I remember when & where I bought that album. He was a fellow guest at a wedding I went to and I had a chat with him about Peter Green because he did a lot to help him get back into reality.

I've only got the one Gary Moore album and it's really just a "Best of".  I bought it because I loved his version of Friday On My Mind amongst others.
