Yes, he was a nurse , so worked shifts , and did the gardening for a bit of extra dosh

we have climbing roses - one just a bit pinker and one is pale orangey  colour and a rambling  pink rose

He never said anything Renton ….he was a nurse before WW2 …and I just grew up with it , so it never seemed strange to me He worked in mental health .

I had a paper round - one of the houses had an old couple who would give me a pear now and again
