Mine doesn’t feed on the ground ...it tends to feed off the bird table ...although it does sometimes perch on the trellis

The narrow mesh keeps out the bigger birds too so the little ones get plenty to eat

it sometimes goes on the bird table but tends to then fly to the ground - never seen it use the feeder but may have missed it
