My dad always used to grow gooseberries
We used to pick them at dad’s friend’s farm. Farmer’s wife made delicious gooseberry jam
I used to love gooseberry jam

Bitter and tart - lovely

I’ve made it once but I was the only one who would eat it
If I won the lottery, I would be very tempted to buy trees like that and create a wood in the grounds of my self designed home.

She eats nearly everything else so we let her off
The other two DiLs are the fussy eaters.

I would also fill it with bluebells (native) and snowdrops, with wildflower planting as you come out of the woods before entering the formal garden nearer the house. Not that I've put much thought into it.
Did you see those chairs near Carol ?
Anyone know what they are?

I just found myself feeling slightly sad that to appreciate the beauty of a wildlife garden you have to sit or lay on the ground amongst it ...... those were the days...., I creak to much and need a lift to get up now.
