Mine were bare root plants which I bought last year, so I guess I was quite lucky to get any flowers at all.
I like lupins ....but when I tried to grow them they were covered in green and black fly !!!

Aww, that's a shame.

I'm going to get some really nice pots once the patio is done .....some pottery ones
Good tip about using sharp sand on slippery paths

You took the words out of my mouth Thanks Yogi
I've just seen a RED ADMIRAL In our garden !!
First of the season.
Settled on our hydrangea
I haven't seen any Red Admirals this year, just lots of whites.
Seen a few whites this year - more than last year, however.
I've had to use insecticides on my roses this year as they nearly died last year - they look amazing but may have deterred some 'nicer' insects coming into the garden.

Something has been eating the foliage on my roses so I might need to use something on them next year.
