Mine is a lot higher than Monty's - eldest son was planning ahead (for when I'm very elderly and can't bend down) when he built it for me.

I think I might plant another couple of clematais ....we used have a huge one over the pergola for a few years ..but it got clematis wilt

I want to plant up some specimen shrubs in the autumn ....once bedding is finished ...and under plant with some bulbs

That's a good idea.

I have a holly plant in a big tub and it's a bit leggy, so I'm thinking of planting the crocus bulbs underneath.
