3) Male Blackbird
Meadow Pipit and Great Crested Grebe.
we have blackbirds nesting in a rose bush again this year
I don't get any as I haven't got a garden as such, but I'll keep a look out
I put food out twice a day for the birds so we have regulars - there are always wood pigeons around - I've seen up to 6 at one time
We have collared doves, chaffinches, house sparrows, blue tits, loads of baby starlings at the moment and a wee robin that visits every winter
It's a shame the birds are dissappearing
robin, sparrows and crows today
big fat wood pigeons, collard doves, robins, blue tits, blackbirds, thrush and loads and loads of magpies
I can hear wood pigeons out the back somewhere at times but can't see them. And there's a lot of magpies flying around the metro station in the mornings
big fat wood pigeons,
I love watching them take off Pengy - they almost look too fat to fly.

I know! they're noisy blighters!
I put seed, nuts etc out every day.
Bluetits, great tits, sparrows, chaffinches, blackbirds, coal tits, greenfinches and a robin come to my garden most days.
I do get a few collared doves but I chase them away.

I love the way they waddle round the garden oblivious to everything
@ Cinds - there will be no eating of the pigeons at my gaff

Evening Yogi - aww why do you chase them away?

Yes, they are so funny - they have such wee heads too
They can be aggressive buggers though - I've seen them beaking some of the smaller birds

Don't laugh - I shake my floor mop at them.
Edit; Oooops, misread your post.
They eat too much food and tend to frighten the little birds away.
Also you tend to start off with a couple of them, then they spread the word and next thing you know, there's a dozen of them in your garden.
Don't laugh - I shake my floor mop at them.
- I'm surprised they even chance coming back

*makes note - Never go to Pengy for a BBQ *

the ones in my garden are quite docile - they sit on my trellis and I always worry it will break under the weight of them
In fact they get picked on by the squirrels and magpies

They do keep coming back. I call them Dopey Doos because they seem a bit thick, but they are very determined.

Noisy? I am a 'you must salute a Magpie' kind of girl. When we first moved in to this house (over 8 years ago) one of them sat for ages peaking in to our living room for hours, what was more scary is there was nothing but brick for it to be holding on to I hate them.

I'v eonly seen them being aggressive if they are on the food tray and another wee bird tries to muscle in
I very rarely get magpies and I've never seen a squirrel in the garden but would love to.

they do give that impression!
Cinds, I mentioned in another thread - think it was Sweets dove thread - that I saw a magpie killing a baby starling and it was horrific.
I knew they stole eggs but I didn't think they killed live birds until I read up on it.

I call our Squirrel Cyril - he comes in to nick the food off the bird table - he scampers down the arch to get to it and it's really funny and I swear he's sticking his fingers up at me as he runs off

Maybe it's just a certain one I see then. It keeps flying round the church at the back of the metro station and opens it's gob a hell of a lot

I've not actually seen it but I've come home and found the remains plus lots of feathers of one or two birdies on my lawn

My mum-in-law gets squirrels in the garden all the time and they actually unscrew the bottom of the nut feeders she has hanging up - they are quick wee things too
