I can throw my limited experience in here... we have been having an app developed at work for our product (art investment market indexes) (and before anyone even goes there, on the plural of index.. don't! both are correct, but in the investment community they like indexes )....
been with the developers for... AGES!!! we were getting there... but every time we were almost there Apple would change something.. initially it was iStore fees that were prohibitive, but recently its been technical stuff.. sooo technical that it takes all three of us to read the email outlining the issues, cos at various stages one or more of us lose the will to breathe & pass out
anyways... we are thousands of pounds into this, as a small company it was a huge investment decision.. and the bills are still rolling in.
at the eleventh hour we are now being asked to consider a complete change of direction and make the app a web based app, as opposed to a native app, as a way round some of the technical stuff Apple keep throwing at us.
tis a bit of a nightmare really
Mind you.. there is an element of the boss being cheap when choosing someone to develop the app for us... peanuts & monkeys & all that
