Xochi I have the iPad mini and can access this site to read the posts but I don't use it to write/reply to posts, I prefer my pc for that. I don't have an iPhone so personally won't be affected by the change but some will I imagine

The reason I don't post from my iPad is that hubby also has one, although a different version, and he's often said that when he uses it to reply to friends he gets that prescriptive text thingy - I think that's the term lol, so I stick with PC for replying to posts on Forums and email.

Thanks Yella. I did try and have a look at the website but it did look a bit fiddly and couldn't see how to reply to posts even if I wanted to. But I agree, its fine for catching up on things here until I can get back to my lappy.

Baz, I used to use the app a lot, when I first got my iPad. Then one day the app wasn't working properly and I visited GaGa using the safari browser on the iPad. Tbh, I now prefer to use the browser as I don't have to remember the smiley codes and I prefer the keyboard. Also, if you turn your iPad to a horizontal (east to west) position, rather than vertical (north to south), everything is much easier to read, as the font size and keyboard are bigger.

Never mind Sweet ...we won't let them stop us queuing !! We will just have to have a sit in in the Bus shelter

I can throw my limited experience in here...    we have been having an app developed at work for our product (art investment market indexes)  (and before anyone even goes there, on the plural of index..  don't!   both are correct, but in the investment community they like indexes )....

been with the developers for...   AGES!!!     we were getting there...   but every time we were almost there Apple would change something..  initially it was iStore fees that were prohibitive, but recently its been technical stuff..  sooo technical that it takes all three of us to read the email outlining the issues, cos at various stages one or more of us lose the will to breathe & pass out

anyways...   we are thousands of pounds into this, as a small company it was a huge investment decision..      and the bills are still rolling in.

at the eleventh hour we are now being asked to consider a complete change of direction and make the app a web based app, as opposed to a native app, as a way round some of the technical stuff Apple keep throwing at us.

tis a bit of a nightmare really

Mind you..    there is an element of the boss being cheap when choosing someone to develop the app for us...      peanuts & monkeys & all that

kaffy! Neverrrrr! I'm married to my iPhone I'll cope, the web browser's mobile version is very good, and fast. I'll just miss the app because it's ideal for lazy bones like myself. I'm just happy to still be able to post here from my phone Thank you Lori for telling us, it's better I knew in advance, I will have time to adjust
