i've noticed, after the straightjacket of ch4, that the same people who posted on there, were muted, and i, for one, rejoice in seeing those personalities rampant on my screen

I agree. The change has been liberating for some. I am seeing more rounded personalities on here, it is good. I am finding some FMs even funnier than before!

Another really cool thing, posting with people I'd never posted with before (for lots of reasons, maybe they were o/t users, or hung about in themed threads like the Newmark/Darnell ones)

I've got reacquainted with some old posters who I'd liked but not "seen" about much.

And of course some lovely people (Raggy!) came back!
