we bathed the dog and trimed his bum at the weekend.   To avoid the messy bum monday morning blues (my week is so off to a bad start if it includes having to don a latex glove and stick the dog in the bath... facing away from me!)...  hubby has given him what we have christened the "monk special".

Twill be a while before we have a clinker problem.   Though the dog keeps looking behind him... especially when its windy.

I think he feels a draft!

lol... no Mr Ditty wouldn't do the anal gland thing!

Karma...  its something about Cairns...  we've had 4 and they are all prone to clinkers...

...mind you... the eternal search for the perfect place for a poo  often goes on so long that they end up desperate and doing it either with a bramble bush clung to their undercarriage... or.. on three legs!!!

that's like one of my labs, the yellow one, she spins round like a top finding the place, then squats, then spins again, it goes on and on, not happy when it's tipping down and blowing a gale

Sooooooo many responses for this thread.  Firstly, ditty, the monk special  (We've had to wash dirty dog butt before, but never trimmed it).

Real, yes you might not have to wipe a fishes ass, but they swim around with long strings of poo hanging out their bums

Lowon, our girl dog gets the blocked anal glands problem, SMELLY!

Thank you for making me feel my dogs mucky botty is not uncommon!

Feels like he's the only one sometimes... when walking him.. if  when emerging from the woods there is a real nightmare going on back there, and then we bump into another dog & owner...   is so embarrassing... the other dog goes straight for a sniff... I am trying to manoeuvre my dog, by the lead, so that he is facing the other owner at all times....   I would be over the moon if, just once, one of their dogs had made a mess of himself.

Shave then and put tippex around so you can see when theyre dirty

No need for the Tippex... I can tell when my dog's bum needs cleaning... by his paranoid behaviour...    he sits down whenever I go near him...  trying to look casual.. but failing.

Also... he runs under my daughters bed whenever he hears the shower going... or see's a latex glove or pair of scissors!

Hooray! Not!..,yet another furry bum cleaning episode for little gurl Cleo,Man she was honking!. I had to clip a lot of fur from her bum and tail...despite  a good bathing/wash of her nether regions..sigh.

My niece stated(her pet by the way!)  She has no tail left!...no says I. her tail is intact just the fur from it has gone!.

perhaps a warning is now due for folks thinking about buying cute little baby bunnies for a pet for Christmas or even later on at Easter time. They have needs that are very specific to them, they have complicated digestive systems, they are a demanding animal. They can grow into grumpy kicking .biting adults weighing up to 6/7/8  kilos depending on the breed. Most do not like being "Cuddled/handled etc"...Think on!

Despite that,I love my Rio and Cleo.
