Rawky I watched it, but not until later.  It was fantastic wasn't it.  That bit with the river cutting it's way through the ice was like the most amazing log flume ever.  Oh and the whales chasing that poor seal, and then when they got it by the tail and just pulled it slowly back in to the water, it's little face

All in all it was an incredible show and so glad I watched it on the HD channel while wearing my spectacles too.

Nice work on posting the pics Erin  I recorded it for my Dad last night....so might watch it again tonight

It was a spectacularly good programme and the effects and stuff were startling and brilliant, and on HD it was breathtaking....but it did upset me in parts...(but as my fella pointed out, it's nature... and the animals are hunting for food and not for sport like us horrid humans!)  The bit where the wolves were chasing the buffalo was a bit upsetting,..... they ran away, and one fell behind, and the wolves started to corner it, and then one of the buffalo herd slammed into the weak buffalo so the wolves could get it, so the rest of the pack could get away, .... that made me want to cry...

especially as it was only a baby...

I guess in the wild, it really IS the 'survival of the fittest' and there is no emotion involved.  It was a case of 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.'  That one buffalo was sacrificed to save the rest.  Sad, but a necessity, and that poor poor seal who got hounded by the whales and then dragged down...

awww the look on its face when they pulled it off the ice but I know, I know, the whales need to eat too....

I only just caught up with the first one the other day... wow, it was fab! Really looking forward to the next one now, and I love the behind the scenes stuff at the end
