I have just come back from visiting a mate of mine who is holed up with a broken arm at the moment.

He broke his arm while walking home drunk last saturday. On his way home there is a small bridge which spans a small river, the bridge is in the middle of being repaired so the road is closed.

My friend Bevan we shall call him, for that is his name, was walking the 2 miles home from the pub after consuming one to many when the police stopped to offer him a lift. As Bevan knew the constable who was driving he accepted the offer. They even offered to drive the extra 4 mile detour and drop him at his front door but he drunkenly declined.Foolish mistake on Bevans behalf as he disembarked from the patrol car at the closed down bridge.

While crossing the scoffolded bridge he fell 12 ft onto the grassy verge below breaking his arm in the process. As Bevan eventually managed to get himself together and scramble out the slippery grassy hole he had found himself in it took him a further mile of walking to realise he was infact heading the wrong way and was infact going back from where he had come, cursing he turned around and trudged home clutching his limp wrist.

He ended up falling of the bridge
