My older brother gets right on my nerves. He's a idiot of the highest order. Apparently he used to idolise me when I was a baby, but now we can barely even be in the same room together. I don't know if id chose any different though, because I know that if anyone hurt me he would hurt them back. Strange things familys

I try as far as possible to stay out of any family aggro. Not living near them helps

My son is getting married at the end of the month, when he asked me who I did or didn't want invited I just told him that they should invite who they wanted, it's their special day they have enough to worry about without all the 'if I invite A then B won't come' garbage.

He did invite someone on his dads side that I am very unhappy about though. I told him that I was unhappy, he told me his reasons for inviting that person and I just promised to behave

Living 300 miles away from my lot means you don't have to see them that often

Sister-in-law , honestly I really don't like you sweetheart , you are a bad bad person , you are a cheat and a liar and a hypochondriac. You threw yourself down the stairs when you were pregnant to get some sympathy. You made me cry when I was 8 months pregnant. You cheated on your husband. You are pasty and spotty and really quite porky getting and your baby is nowhere near as cute as mine.

I suppose the one member of my family that annoys me the most is my Father In Law, nice man but likes to moan, (a lot) woe is him, and hardly ever asks how others are. He is getting on a bit though so we all count to 10 and indulge and fuss over him.

my mum in law.......she thinks i 'pick' on her little boy and run him ragged.....she also thinks i'm a snob cos i clean the house more than once a week......

None of my family get on my nerves. I don't get to see them very often, unfortunately.

For me it's my sister...we don't talk at all anymore (my choice).

I can't be arsed with the reasons why - too many to mention and she doesn't deserve any more of my time and energy than what I've already wasted on her over the past 40 years.

Suffice to say if we never see/speak again...that's the way I would choose it to be.

I think these days, family and friends seem to be flung far afield. Gone are the days, when most families lived in close proximity with each other. Quite sad, I feel.

What will actually keep me in line ( I hope) is the fact that my love for my son (and my DIL to be and grandson) far outweighs my loathing of his uncle and I know that they would be very hurt if their day was ruined.

You are probably right sweetie

I am very lucky in that my beloved Mum and her partner live two minutes away but my husbands family live 100 miles away

I'm not trivialising it though. I understand for a lot of people the seperation is awful
