Abo, if they are using you cut em off.  Been there done that, I will be used once, twice, maybe a third time.  After that they can fook off

 Sorry to hear that Abo. Guess it happens to all of us at one time or another.

 With you on that one. But I have some brilliant friends who have been with me  through many bad times. You just have to harden yourself a bit with the ones who  are just using you.

Totally agree.  Some will use you for all they can garner from you, but then you will find them that love you whatever.

Friends are people you should fel comfy with - if I don't feel comfy around people they are not my friend. Pretty simple really

I have two pals who I have been friends with since I was 14, many, many moons ago and would trust them with my life and many more friends that I have met over the years and never had a cross word. If people use you, then indeed they are not you're friends and you're better off without them

I've been trying to cut them off for the past year. They moved back to Oz & left me to take care of their house here, their car & some of their possessions.

Don't have anything more to do with their house (which has tenants in it) - done

Donated their belongings that they left to the charity shop (which is what the police suggested) - done

Fix the car yourself & recoup costs with sale - done

only problem now is they are threatening me.

I've led a very interesting life in Oz but have never had friends & don't think I will ever again, well OH is best friend but thats it. Its just these people are people I felt sorry for & tried to help. Never again, I think I'll just go back to telling it like it is

for giving their things away (weren't worth anything) because I had been footing the storage bill for 12 months. & with threatening, with legal action even though the police have said we did everything humanly possible to sort it out.

they went to the cops & they rang them back in Oz to tell them that they don't have a leg to stand on. Especially after 12 months. The cops said they would consider the things abandoned

 Well it sounds to me that you're in a better place than they are.   You will have friends, but next time you will be more wary. And what the hell do they  have to threaten you with numpties

I know the feeling having been through it myself recently (tis on my blog)

I trust up until the point that they do something that too crap to be ignored and then they're out.  I can't be friends with people I can't trust.

I have been taken for a real mug over the last 18 months, but you know what really hurts these people, is you say nothing at all, its driving her up the wall
