I hadn't realised it was Friday the 13th. What should I avoid?

Apparently, it may be the amalgamation of two separate superstitions - that the number 13 is unlucky, and Friday is an unlucky day.

But I have no idea why.

It's summat to do with the Knights Templar isn't it?

I know two people who have a birthday today. I hope it's a good day for them!

I just wonder which on is the main one, or the true one. 

My street doesn't have a no 13, the builders said it's difficult to sell so they leave it out now However, everything good that happens to one of my lovliest friends, happens on the 13th and it's her families lucky number

Neither am i, just interested how far people take it, and where it originated from. 

I just put a line of washing out and the line broke. I fixed it and the prop broke. My sisters washing machine just blew up and I ain't touching nothing electrical until the 14th.

Really! I wasn't aware they didn't put 13 on houses, they don't do it now though, my ex just moved into number 13.. truefax!   hehee the irony

I want to cry 

My normal payday is the 15th of every month, but because that's on Sunday and my work isn't legally allowed to pay us any later than agreed, I got paid today - lucky for some!

Mine doesn't either.  I'm  11 and my neighbour is 15.

 

None, it's a load of shit? 

Next block to me has a no 13,though theses houses were built in the 1920's.

Anyone in the market for accommodation who refuses to buy a house because it has 13 above the door should be separated from all their money and made to live in a tent on a council tip.  And be tattooed on the forehead.  And forcibly sterilised.

We stayed in No 13 and they were very happy years...it's one of my lucky numbers and my Mother lived in no13 and had good years there too..

well so far its been a fab day for me! 

Its interesting to learn about superstition, whatever you believe.

 

I love hearing about these things, the same way i do about old ghost stories passed down.

A witches coven is generally described as 13.

 

I am not sure of this, but it was believed they often gathered on a Friday - but that idea may have come AFTER the general belief of Friday being unlucky.
