I haven't been to the dentist in a few years. Partly because I was in South Korea and the language barrier seemed like too much hassle, but mainly because it's so bloody expensive.

I try to take care of my teeth, but I'd like to get a check up done as I have some concerns.

A work colleague mentioned about going to a Free NHS Dentist, but I can't seem to find anything on them

Any suggestions?

People in certain groups are entitled to free NHS dental treatment.

Otherwise, there are three standard NHS price Bands. You should only pay once for each course of dental treatment.

The Bands cover:

Band 1 is ÂĢ18.80  Examination, diagnosis (e.g. x-rays), preventive advice, a scale and polish if needed, application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant. Urgent care, even if your appointment needs more than one appointment to complete.

Band 2 is ÂĢ51.30  Everything listed in Band 1, plus further treatment like fillings, root canal work and extractions.

Band 3 is ÂĢ222.50  Everything listed in Bands 1 and 2, plus crowns, dentures and bridges.
