It really can be the survival of the fittest. Had I been blessed with kids (or if I ever get lucky enough to raise a baby) I will never send them to boarding school. It works for some, but can be hellish for others.

I HATE bullies so reading those quotes from his former 'schoolmates' made my blood boil, in particular the fact that they are now adults and still seem to derive some sort of pleasure reminiscing about tormenting him instead of rightly being ashamed of themselves. Mad

But as has been said, the fact he's able to rise above it shows that he has inner strength and the brokeback boyz have little chance of grinding him down as is their intention.

It can indeed Holly. Tbh, I don't see the point in having children if you are going to send them away to boarding school.

well if this proves anything its that Fred has been a victim for most of his life, and even a "leftie" like myself think that is WRONG, I DO hope he at least outlasts the bullying bastards in there,
so that one by one they come out and see the support that Fred has from the public as a DIRECT result of their nasty behavoiur, Nod

still not convinced I want him to WIN though

Sometimes it makes sense I guess.

My sister put one of her boys in boarding school when she was sent to Germany for 3 years with her husband who was in the RAF. He was on a tour of duty and it seemed sensible to keep the child on in school (but as a boarder instead of a day pupil).

He hated it though and used to come to me and my husband most weekends, half terms and part of the summer holidays (and we loved having him too).

I know he can handle it but it`s not fair is it? Frowner

Made me feel rather sad too Scotty.

I don`t understand the horribleness of people. I really don`t.
Do unto others as you would have done to yourself.

Exactly Scotty - I would never treat anyone with the disdain they're showing Freddie in the house.

I hate it when folk are isolated or intimidated.

They all seem to be excluding him.

He probably can be irritating but I expect he is also very interesting with the knowledge he has so I'd be happy to engage in conversation with him.

Absolutely Hyacinth. I believe once he settles down with you,(stops trying so hard) knows you can converse without judgement and understand him, he would be a very interesting person to talk to. He certainly wants to know and is interested in others. He`s my type of person. I`m the same with you about islolation and intimidation. It`s cruel. I`m reading that most of our fellow fm`s feel the same about Freddie`s predicament. We can`t all be wrong.

I'd like to see how many of them would like it if they were shut out and isolated? They ought to put themselves in his shoes and just think about it.

They may learn from it..watching back after they leave. I don`t think Lisa will though. Marcus was right. You can get into the garden but not into the house.
Walk a mile in Freddie`s shoes and you JUST might be a better person.
