Middle son and I have been in the garden today. We also went to the garden centre and bought some herbs, which we have planted - hope they survive.

For some reason, my laptop is not charging, so if I disappear for a few days it is only due to technical problems.

Yes Yogi its been nice.  I am amazed that the connection to the mains for my laptop has such a loose push-fit.  To my mind it should have a proper click and hold fitting.  Is yours the same or is it some other reason its not recharging?

My company has gone and the house is back to normal (well almost).  It's been a busy weekend all round.  Looking forward to a couple of peaceful days to let my batteries charge up!!

Laptop is still poorly. We have ordered a new cable for the charger, but if that doesn't work then it will need to go back to the shop. It has still got 6 months warranty, so it should get repaired without too many problems. However, until it is sorted, I will need to steal borrow hubby's laptop to keep in touch. Unfortunately he is IE so most of the smilies are missing.
Squiggle, the connection is a bit loose, but hubby thinks there may be a break in the cable somewhere - he's not very technical though, so he's probably wrong.

Joyron, I'm glad you are taking things easy after your busy weekend. It's lovely having people to visit but it can be tiring.
Renton, good to see you visiting the thread more often.

I cannot remember the last time I felt SO tired.  Yes it was a busy weekend but I must just be getting too old for all this entertaining!!  I've not done a lot today and don't think I will be late to bed tonight.  Hopefully I will feel more like myself tomorrow (at least I hope so).

Hope to catch up later but if I don't I will be here tomorrow.  Love you all. 

I sympathise Joyron, I had a busy but enjoyable week last week but I was shattered.  I went to bed exhausted on the Thursday and slept for 8 hours straight through, I never usually do that, I have to get up for the bathroom.  We are not as young as we were

Afternoon Squiggle and Yogi.  Hope you had a good time catching up with your friend Yogi.

I was late getting up (again).  Had to go to the shops; hence it's 12.30 pm and this is the first chance I've had to come and see everyone.  Will catch up again later. 

Did you sleep OK Joyron?

I woke up once at about 2.00 am but after a trip to the loo I was back in bed and slept until 8.30 am.  That's unheard of for me.  I know having company can make you tired but I don't think I've ever felt so washed out as I do at the moment.  I hope it's not a sign of something else!!!

I had a lovely time with my friend, and she had some wonderful news. She is going to be a grandmother in November. It's early days yet, so they are only telling close family and friends but she said I could share the news with my GaGa friends. I shall have to get the knitting needles out again and start on some baby clothes.
Joyron, you really do need to take things easy for a few days. Remember you have been very busy decorating your house, as well as looking after your visitors. *big hug*

Afternoon Yogi.  Glad you had a great time with your friend and what wonderful news she had for you.  I always used to love knitting for little babies!!  Thank you for the hug, it's just what I need at the moment. 

Oh dear.  I've just had a look at a couple of the "political" threads.  I vowed I would NEVER get involved but I've posted a couple of responses and I'm sure all will go bad for me now!!!  Please keep you fingers crossed that my responses get overlooked!!!  Squiggle where are you when I need you.  You are SO much better at saying  the right things in these threads.  I just go in with all guns blazing I'm afraid.

Thank you Squiggle.  However things pan out I KNOW where my cross is going tomorrow.  I hope things don't get messy but I fear they will. 

joyron, your posts on my thread and the GB being the worst PM thread are fine. Everybody is entitled to their views and to express them in whatever way they want. It would be dreadful if we couldn't and it would be boring if we all had the same view.

The problem was (as hubby predicted) a fault with the charger cable.
I can use Firefox again, so I have all my smilies back.

Thank you for those comments El Loro.  I normally don't venture into political threads because I feel so positive about the outcome I want and so frustrated by people who don't see things the same way as me.  That's why I stay away from those threads.  We love having you, and anyone else who would care to join us, in our little thread.  It's a lovely calm, happy thread where we just talk to each other and "let the world go by".

So glad all has worked out with your laptop Yogi.  It would be a disaster if you couldn't keep in touch with us.  Lots of  and  to you too.

Squiggle,  I've read most of what you have written in the other threads and I must say I admire you.  You say lots of what I would like to say, but cannot put into such eloquent phrases as you do.  I really, really, hope that things turn out better than some are expecting on Friday.  We need a decisive result and some strong action thereafter; not a load of posturing (sp) and people trying to get what they can out of the situation.  I will be glad when this is all over!!!
