Commiserations Yogi, one consolation might be, as I usually find, that when I have had a disturbed night I am completely cream crackered the next night and go straight off, here's hoping.  Well done to you ozzy, much more courage than me, I am not so much "unaccustomed to public speaking" but am rendered a gibbering wreck by the mere thought, more power to your elbow

Thanks guys It's amazing what we can do if we just set our minds to it i suppose
That's very true Ozzy.
As someone who suffers from claustrophobia, I always swore I'd never go through the Channel Tunnel. However, when we got stranded in Poland and I had no other way of getting home, I managed to brave it. It was a bit like being a sardine in a tin, though.

Afternoon everyone.   Sorry to hear you had a bad night last night Yogi.  As Squiggle says, hopefully you will sleep a lot better tonight.  I've been dreaming a lot recently and what with the full moon I've been waking a couple of times in the night but I have managed to get back to sleep again after a nice cup of tea!!

The sun has disappeared now and it's quite cool.  Let's hope we get a better day tomorrow.

Hope to catch up with you later.

Afternoon everyone.    Yogi, I should have said the tea I drink is decaffeinated so it doesn't stop me getting back to sleep.  Not sure what effect the "real" stuff might have!!

I've just sat and watched the two parts of "A Passionate Women" by Kay Mellor.  It was based on the true story of her mother's affair back in the 50's.  Did any of you watch it?  I really enjoyed it.

Will try and get back later.  Keep those dandelions at bay.

oh dear i hope Figgy is ok - is it usual for her to be this quiet?

Well i just looked again at BB dates and the last two DID start in June BUT the previous SEVEN began in May.
So i will take BOTH off now!!! So cheers for the heads up on that one JOYRON.

Life is treating me well - work is dull but easy and i am comtemplating a move to childcare as the local NCH sed they may begin two staff on nightshift so i need to chase that up. How's you doing?

Glad to hear that life is okay; although work is dull.  Hope you can get the move you want.  You appear to like night work.  Is that a preference or a necessity??   My No.2 son is out of work at the moment (the company he worked for went into bankruptcy) and he is finding it difficult to get another job, although he really, really wants to work.  He's not one of those people who would prefer to be on benefits!!
Joyron
I have to work nights cos my mum needs 24hour care
Feel sorry for your son - being out of work really isolates people - financially and socially.
I did not want to leave my last place - i tried in vain to stay ... and now - its closing, so if i hadn't of moved i would have prob been made redundant in a few months.
Odd how life works out.

Renton, your mum is lucky to have such a caring son.

Joyron, it couldn't have been easy for you looking after your parents-in-law.My mum looked after my grandmother (her mother-in-law) for nearly ten years. Although she didn't live with my parents, my mum visited her twice a day, every day. She also cooked for her and did her washing, and tended to her personal care. She found it quite difficult when my grandmother died, as there was this huge gap in her life.

Good morning to all my lovely Freddie friends.  Hope this finds you well.  The sun is shining at the moment but I don't know how long for.

Yes Yogi, it was a hard time looking after two aged, ill people.  We nursed my father in law for a year before be died from bowel cancer.  My mother in law was not so much ill as infirm and riddled with arthritis, which meant she could not get about on her own.  Eventually she had to go into a home as she needed constant care, which I was unable to give as I was working at the time.

That's one of the reasons why we have such a big house.  We built the place we live in at present ourselves and included a self contained annex for my husband's parents.  Now they have both gone, and the boys are living their own lives, this place is far too big for two people.  Incidentally my forum name comes from those wonderful people (Joyce and Ronald).  Bet you cannot guess what my real name is!!

Hope to catch up again later.  Hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing.
Joyron
