Hi Justa, it is worrying that Figtree hasn't been on for a while, especially with her recent health issue. I hope she comes back soon.

I'm sorry RAF man is out of the country for a while. My hubby was in the forces when we were dating and in the early days of our marriage, so I can remember the separations and really feel for you. The homecomings are always lovely to look forward to though.

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining for the second day in a row.

Justa, Forces relationships can be difficult at times. However, it's worth the trouble when you are with the right person. RAF man sounds like a nice guy, but I understand why you feel it's all a bit strange.

Joyron and Squiggle, hope to catch up with you later today.  Joyron, I posted details of my little adventure for you ^^^^^^.

Figtree, I hope you manage to post with us today, we are all worried about you.

Good morning Yogi.   Glad to hear the sun is shining where you are.  It's not too bad here in Essex, but a bit cloudy at times.  I read your adventures and it sounds as though you had a long journey back.  At least you had some good company along the way.

I am really worried about Figtree, particularly after she posted that she had had 3 strokes!!  The people in charge on here (ie Lori) must have her email address.  I wonder if they could make contact and check up on her.  That said I wouldn't have the faintess idea how to get in touch with them to ask if they could do so.  I wonder if Darlo would know what to do.  Perhaps he will be along later and if I see him I will ask.

Have not had Squiggle's picture yet this morning.  I wonder what it will be today?

Hope to catch up with you later.

Yogi they say its the quiet ones you have to keep an eye on Tee Hee   Joyron you'd better believe it, I like sneaking into the thread now and then and tweaking their tails.  I don't know who is going to win the election but I do know one thing I am glad I don't share the class hatred and hatred in general I see demonstrated in that thread and similar ones

Regarding Figtree.  Just had a message back from Lori.  She said she would PM Figtree.  I thanked her for saying she would do this but queried whether Figtree would see such a message unless she logged in.  Lori said an email could be construed as an intrusion of Figtree's privacy and I agreed with that but said we were all really worried about Figtree and didn't know how else to find out if she was okay.  Will update you with anything else that comes back from Lori.

Just popped in to see if Joyron had any luck after I tried to be helpful re contacting Lori... on reading in here, seems that I'm probably one of 'them' in 'that' thread so I'll bid my goodbyes
Sorry Super... but I just don't understand your message.  I hope I have not upset you.  I really appreciated your help and have sent a message to Lori, as per your instructions.
Joyron
Oh dear!!  Having gone into the "politics" thread we were talking about above it appears (from looking back into that thread) that Super... has taken exception to our political views.  Now it's us and them, which is SO wrong.  We are all entitled to our opinions and I wouldn't but anyone down just because their opinion did not agree with mine.

Will have to sign out now as hubby is on his way home.  Hope we hear something from Figtree before too long.  It appears we will have to wait for her to contact us.

As you know Joyron, I don't normally come in here, only did so 'cos of your message in cdwm and to try to help out.... so when I popped back in to see how you got on it wasn't very nice to read the stuff about me/ people with whom I am friendly with on here/ Labour voters being accused of 'hatred' etc... Hey ho, that's forum life I suppose, just don't normally see what goes on in this fanclub, so I was a bit shocked to see it being used as a place to slag people off

I haven't taken exception to your political views Joyron, everyone is entitled to their opinion and expressing it in healthy debate.....that's v different to the stuff I've just seen on here re 'tweaking tails' 'winding up'  and accusations of  'class hatred and hatred in general' which all feels a bit personal and unpleasant

I've not said any of that Super...  I've sent you a PM (You will wish you had not shown me how to do it now).

As this is aimed at me Super let me reply to you direct.  Tweaking tails is a light-hearted expression in which I express how I feel when trying to 'row against the tide' in just about every discussion on this forum regarding the election.  I have never once been anything but polite in stating my views.  My view is, and remains, that what I have witnessed about bottles of champagne in fridges waiting for Margaret Thatcher to die, and her 'oozing wee' is sheer hatred.  I find that very very unpleasant and I find it quite upsetting the way the view is taken that this election is all about class.  That is not my view at all, in my opinion this election should be about the dreadful state this country has been brought to, but I am entitled to express my view that I find this hatred very unpleasant.  Are you saying that I am not entitled to express my view?  I found your post quite inflammatory in what has always been a lovely friendly thread, where politics has never raised its ugly head until now.  Joyron happened to mention that maybe her views coincided with mine and I replied to that.  You then wandered in and poured fuel on the flames.  There was no need for that at all.  What a great pity that this lovely thread has been brought down.

You are very welcome in this thread at any time Super.  It is a lovely friendly thread.  As I have already said we are all entitled to our different views.  I have never before questioned the politics of anyone who posts in here, it never usually enters our heads, we are too busy chatting and laughing (and showing concern for those who haven't been heard for a while or who are going through problems or have something wonderful to celebrate).  Forum life is what it is, I am never offensive and I would be very disappointed to think that, for some reason, you were offended by anything you read in here.

Good morning Yogi and Squiggle.   You are up and about early this morning!!  Sleep tight Rention.

Dear Squiggle, although I know it's best to let things lie, I feel that I really should apologise to you and all our lovely Freddie friends.  Because I went into the CT thread to leave a message for Darlo regarding Figtree I feel I bought the unpleasantness into our thread which came from Super...  I really was amazed at how he/she reacted to our comments.  I always make a point of staying out of political threads and the way he/she jumped on those small remarks was astounding.  I wanted to come back and sort it out last night but, as you know, once hubby gets home that's just not possible.  Well now I've made my apologies I don't intend mentioning the subject again.

Hope to catch up again later.
Joyron
No worries Joyron, I hope I was pleasant in my reply to Super but I too felt that her intervention was, shall we say, a little uncalled-for. We shall keep this thread, as we have always done a politics-free zone. Neither you or I have anything to blame ourselves for, simply stating our opinions and meaning no harm to anyone
