Good afternoon to all my lovely Freddie friends.  Hope you are all doing okay today.

Yogi I'm sorry that we keep missing each other.  I am fine, although it don't like this cold weather.  I didn't realise you were from Scotland.  That's my favourite holiday destination in this country.

What we need to do is agree a time which suits us all and arrive here together so that we can post like we did in the "old" days.  Mind you the system might not be able to cope with such a situation!!

Hope to catch up again later.  Until then take care of yourselves.

Afternoon Fredsters Hope everyone is well..
Joyron, I'm glad you like coming to Scotland, it is a beautiful country (I'm a bit biased). My hubby isn't Scottish, he's from the NE of England.
We really should try to set a date and time for the Fredsters to post together, good idea, Joyron.

Good morning Squiggle, Yogi and all my lovely Freddie friends.  I hope this finds you well today.

What a beautiful rose Squiggle.  I can smell it too.  I also love freesias.

It really is such a small world Squiggle.  I lived in Billericay for a few months just after we got married and my number one son travels to Basildon for his work each day.  Yogi I live about 9 miles from Colchester and worked there for many years before I became a lady of leisure!!  My husband's company is based in Colchester too.

Hope to catch up again later.

I agree Yogi, the smell of roses, especially after its been raining and I love the smell of carnations. I don't understand why people are so snobby about carnations they are one of my most favourite flowers. Smells are so individual aren't they? I mean the ones they like, I used to walk past a coalyard on my way to school, I liked that smell, I love the smell of hot asphalt (I know I'm weird ) but carnations I can sniff and sniff. My garden also smells wonderful, especially in the rain because of the huge great conifers (about 40ft tall) - they are not leylandii! By the bye there is a green woodpecker right outside my window having a good rootle in my lawn, they are such funny birds, they do everything in a great rush, he has found a little hole now and is sticking his long beak down it!

Squiggle, I agree about the carnations. My late nana had green fingers and her garden was full of scented flowers. She had carnations on both sides of her path and I used to stand in the pathway, breathing in the beautiful scent. Now, when I smell carnations, it takes me back to my nana's garden.
I love the smell of warm tar, too. We have a lot in common.
I am jealous that you have a little woodpecker visiting your garden. I need to go walking in the woods to see any woodpeckers.

Yogi I had never even seen a woodpecker until we moved here.  Now we have 2 sorts that come regularly, I had never seen a long-tailed tit, and I even heard a cuckoo for the first time last year.  Its lovely.

Yogi do you like the smell of Stocks as well, they are one of the only cut flowers I buy because I love the smell.  I can't stand the smell of lilies though, they make me feel headachey.
