loved up lol. i was getting worried i hadnt heard from him, but apparently with the 5 deaths out there, the first thing done is all interent is cut off so no names can be leaked out before next of kin have been informed, (which is how it should be). he emailed today twice and i answered but then nothing again as i guess they have lost connection  with another death today,But he is ok he says, and everyone around him coping well.

, it's very dangerous you never know when it's safe or not. Shame for the families because they're always worrying, but the troops be fine because they are doing their duty to protect us and love the job that they do but they deserve lots of respect, it's so disrespectful when some idiots don't appreciate what they have given up for this country.

Hopefully you will hear more news soon but nice you're in touch.

justa, that rogue policeman was a friend of the soldiers, that is what makes it so awful.  So, who can they trust now?  It must be nerve wracking for them all.  I seen the young 18yr old's picture in the paper today and it made me very sad - he was the same age as my grandson.  This treacherous cowardly man waited for them to take off their flak jackets/body armour, their helmets, and lay their guns to the side, and then he opened fire on them.  I am so glad your bloke is ok justa.  It said in the paper that all communication is cut off immediately when this happens. It really must make the lads there very nervous not knowing who to trust.

It was just terrible Twee. He says they are all coping ok but it does make you wonder when things like that happen, the one place they think they have a bit of safety (was his words) although he didnt say much else, except that he wasnt where it happened.
I can imagine them trying hard not to dwell on it but it must be very very hard for them. They cant trust anyone can they, and then in America tonight ive just heard about the army barracks where a soldier has turned on his own men and killed 12.
it really makes you wonder whats going on in this world.

justa, they had just got back from patrolling the area and were sat having a cup of tea and a cigarette .. relaxing after that, in the baking heat .. and this is what your bloke meant about feeling safe doing that, I suppose.  I also read that they shot the murderer in the leg but he got away.  Hopefully, they will catch him.  I haven't read about the incident in America but this is just terrible.  War is bound to affect men's minds Justa because they are in an unnatural environment most of the time.  The security will be tight there now Justa, so don't worry about your bloke love xx

Just read back on this thread last night, my heart goes out to all those away from these shores fighting for us; and their families and friends.  I am one of the 'bring 'em home now' school of thought.  We cannot win a war out there and in my opinion far from keeping our streets safe we run the risk of stirring up more hatred by our involvement. Special hug for you Han, roll on January and the safe return of your friend and his mates.

ood morning Freddie Fans. Love that pic Squiggle. I used to say "show me your happy face" to my sons when they were small. report · permalink
Aww that's lovely Yogi, I am just imagining the happy little faces they showed to you.  I was just reminiscing with a friend yesterday about when our grandsons were small and we had a super kingsize bed.  Sunday morning, my husband and me and the grandsons in the middle, tea and biscuits.  Bliss!

Good morning to all my lovely Freddie friends.  Have read back over the entries last night.  I agree that it must be awful for all those familes who have loved ones over there, never knowing when the call may come.

Justafriend, I will keep your friend in my prayers, as I try to do with everyone who needs us to look out for them.

I hope all my lovely friends are doing okay this morning.  It is lovely to see that Mary is back with us at long last.  Will speak again later.  XXXX

That reminds me of my boys climbing into bed with us when they were little, there was hardly any room for hubby and me.
When my eldest was four, he commented that one of our neighbours was a nice lady, and that he really liked her because she had a "smiley face". We still kid him on that he only likes people with smiley faces.
