I agree the food was rubbish but he should have given credit for the entertainment   he's deliberately marking low for tactical reasons   there used to be a time when the producers would intervene and make them mark properly

LOVE IT.....got it a lot when I lived in Norfolk and, in season, always come home with loads of it when I visit, and I can get it where my sisters live in Turkey....with butter and black pepper YUM YUM YUM. When I was out to eat last week I ordered a smoked trout and samphire starter, just 'cos of the samphire, DELICIOUS

We get it down here direct from the fishmonger on the beach.
Not sure, but depending on the time of year can affect the saltiness...?  I like it raw in salads with other mixed leaves, but as you say, blanched with a knob of butter is delish too.
