Having a dog as you all know I do    I'm always conscious that dogs do make carpets/houses smell so I clean my house rigorously daily to ensure there is no doggy smell - it's not difficult   besides, Milo is cleaned often and always smells bootiful 

Agree with every word, Pengy.  There's no need for it - it's pure laziness, ignorance and downright scuzzyness on his part.

I think I'd have done an about-turn and gone home.  I couldn't even drink out of one of his glasses for fear of where they'd been.

Oh, and this singing would deffo get me out PDQ..!

 Pengy I am sure your house  (and Milo) smell lovely. I think it is more than possible to have animals without the pongs or the poop  I used to have two cats and my son and family have a dog (a bit like Milo), and two cats, but neither their house (nor mine, I hope) smell......

So would I, deffo. I'd have said that I felt ill ... and actually, I would have felt ill seeing the litter tray
