yes good point, we have not seen others helping
I can think of a better way to treat myself for my birthday than going through the pain of a tattoo (and having to look at it after too).

why don't you think of trying a self referral to a NHS physio?
I found them very helpfull, (and dishy too!) 
Son did this and they helped his leg too (old injury from broken leg, by a kid kicking him at school as a child)...

they also do patches, which I used when my knee was worse than it is now.
