We did a family sweepstake between 5 of us with  us all gettgin 7 teams (or blanks cos there were a few of them).  My last team went out yesterday (Ghana) but my 1 year old still has three bloody teams in it the jammy git..the only one hes not got is Spain....and as up to 4th gets paid out he'll be quids in next week!

I hope Germany beat Spain as well. I watched them play last night - load of prima donna cry babies. As Suzy said, Germany are a fine example of what a team should be like.
Lets see Spain try their ways on the Germans and see how far it gets them.

I wonder if it's about time that Europe broke away from FIFA, took a leaf out of The Africans book and had a more regular continent based competition? I have had enough of the governing body and their strange ways. The business of the girls being arrested and detained for wearing orange dresses represented a new low.
Over the last years we have had the competition in inappropriate places such as Japan/Korea, USA, South Africa. Brazil next! I would much prefer a two yearly competion locally.

I really want Holland to win although for me it's anyone but Spain.
Joe, I think there is too much stress on the players schedules already, more comps won't help. I think they need a defined 3 or 4 week break every season just to allow their bodies to recover.
I don't agree with the World Cup being held in places that don't have the right infrastructure already or in countries where footie isn't an important sport ie the USA.
Some of the grass roots political sites are getting more and more stories about tribes people in South Africa being turfed off their land to build the stadia with no compensation and their whole way of life and capability to be self sufficient destroyed.
That can't be right for a few weeks of footie

I meant chucking FIFA and the World Cup and having an extra Euro one. It has been suggested elsewhere that FIFA is riddled. Sorry! I'm having to make quick, and probably senseless, visits. Having to look after a poorly Mrs Joe.

I'll be crossing fingers for Holland. If Germany should win tomorrow, I'd rather they played Holland in the final.
