Crapello's job at risk, no wonder he looks so deflated.....how much does he get paid?

When I watched England against Algeria I thought it was the worst performance I had ever seen from an England team - and I remember the dark days of the Turnip in charge.
Today was worse

Noooo! We want him for next Liverpool boss

I thought Liverpool were after Didier Deschamps?
I think Hodgson was hedging his bets until he saw what England would do today. He may well be the next England manager

I dunno Pam. I've spent the last couple of weeks arguing with my son (the Man U fan) about England. I've been proved right today - sadly.
I honestly believe that Hodgson or Redknapp would have done much better in the job. I have never ever agreed with having a foreign manager at national level.

It's not funny Meaty though. We want the World Cup here and if our fans kick off then they will use that as an excuse not to give it us

Not that Blatter and Platini actually need an excuse. Pair of haters.

Gotta hand it to Germany, they played absolutely brilliantly. I've seen people saying we let them get away with it, maybe we did, but I haven't seen an attack like that from an opposing team since the tournament started. They deserved to win based on game play. Our lot were lost! AND as I said elsewhere, at least we didn't go out on penalties.
That Lampard ball was a friggin goal though (Not that it makes any difference but a goal is a goal)

Do we? I certainly don't... could you imagine the expectations? It would be chaos if we had another repeat and went out in the final 16.

their attacking was brilliant and showed our defence up for what it is ... saying that, their defence wasnt a lot better but our forwards looked knackered and just not really interested (for the whole tournament not just today)

How old were you during Euro 96? It was fabulous and there wasn't that much trouble when England went out - a few drunken idiots but overall it was friendly and fun. I went to all the England games apart from the opener against Switzerland and I only live a (longish) bus ride away from Wembley. We deserve to have it here imo - way more than the USA who are also bidding. Football is a long way down on their list of popular sports and they had the WC in 94

I've just said in the other thread that it makes you wonder if they're frightened of what could be found out if anyone delved deep enough

We'll have a different team/manager then though Meaty

it was great - i worked in Liverpool at the time and the atmosphere in town with the fans was great even at lunchtime - Croatia and Czech Republic fans were great fun
I loved Euro '96. I went to the Italy v Czech Republic game at Anfield, and I was in Brum when Scotland played Holland there. Fantastic occasions on both days.
And then, I was in London when England won that shoot-out against Spain. Loads of people in Covent Garden stopping acting trendy and crowding round shop windows to watch it..

Just to let you know that England have just beaten Australia at thier one day cricket match. This means that they have won the 5 match series already with another 2 games to go.

I know, just caught the tail end of that. Sets up a potentially very interesting Ashes series this winter.

SSN - reports saying Fabio says he is considering his future
Dear god I'm so glad I 'm Welsh but still supported England in the WC but horribly disappointed....is Fabio to blame...or the players?

Both, IMO. Fabio for ignoring the fact that no previous England manager has been able to successfully play Gerrard on the left, or with Lampard. And for picking a clearly unfit and uninterested Rooney. The players for being complacent and completely lacking in team spirit or unity.
I'm also Welsh and still feeling disappointed.
I is slightly upset...slightly despondent...slightly narked and last but by no means least slightly pissed.......
