The Rt Rev Nick Baines, the Bishop of Croydon who is touted as a future Archbishop of Canterbury, wonders if we haven't been "over-rating, over-hyping and over-anticipating" England's chances in the World Cup.
Croydon? What's that got to do with anything? AND, what's worse, he over-uses 'over'.
I BET HE THINKS IT'S ALL OVER.

Hey RZB, have you been listening to the Armchair World Cup on 5live

I've been podcasting it, it's brilliant, I like Alan Davies, & Stoney appears on Fighting Talk, I'm also podcasting  Baddiel & Skinner, I forgot how funny that pair can be, I'll be listening to these shows long after the dust settles on the world cup, oh plus I pick up the Danny Baker show which is all world cup at the mo, I'm never gonna get through all these podcasts before the new Premeirship starts. Ian Stone is odd looking don't you think
Lets just say , he wouldn't  be out of place with the konk in N17...

PMSL I think he may be of the N17 persuasion. Apparently his dad goes to the Arsenal Ladies matches but I've yet to find out who he is.

Alan Davies does an Arsenal podcast as well. He does make me laugh, he is one of the block 1 celebrity hooligans who sits behind the bench at the Emirates.
I love Danny Baker as well - some of the radio shows are the funniest around.

So there's no problem in the England camp?  I think there are serious problems there - let's hope they can get it together for Wednesday
Yes looks like theres a whole heap of trouble brewing there and I doubt if Terry would have piped up if he thought he was alone in thinking what he said.

Its usually the Dutch that have all these troubles not the French and English

I think that giving the players more than 2 hours notice of the team might help too!!!....
I dont get why this is a big issue.  This is common practice for league teams, champions league and you name it.  When I played even my pub team did it this way though that may have been because we had to see who was the least hungover .  Every player has to prepare anyway because someone can pull a hammy in the warm up, it happens more often than you think.  Its not like a large number of the team arent used to being left on the bench for their clubs either.

All this is about is the media wanting enough time to rip into any selections he makes before the game starts which is why they are crying the loudest about it.

Lol Meaty, I'm sure I offered you the Ivory Coast at some point.
Looks like the Spanish and Portuguese are getting their acts together - wonder if France, Italy and England can do the same.
What do you make of the Terry thing? I despise him but don't think he would have come out and said all that if he didn't have the backing of a lot of the team.

I know you didnt ask me but I think you are right
You don't have to wait to be asked! I doubt that we will find out the truth about everything that has been going on until the biographies start to come out in a few years time.

Bateman - turds on sticks? I'm sure I've seen a few teams of that ilk over the years. Mind you, when Mick (my team selections and tactics are as boring as my monotonous voice) McCarthy is complaining that a team are boring and negative then you know it must be dire

hehe...even then probably not.  Motson said tonight about how the team confronted Bobby Robson about changing the formation in 1990 but Linekar said no thats not what happened it was Bobbys idea he ran past some of the players and he wouldnt have tollerated anything like that anyway.  So it shows you how stuff can be twisted.

Lol at turds on sticks.  I think Argentina have had an easy run of it so far.
