Mike, I wonder.... you seem like one of those people who might do better if you had a very specific menu handed to you, at least until you got rolling. You know what I mean? For breakfast you'll eat this, for mid-morning snack, you'll eat this, for lunch...blah blah blah. Have you ever looked at the South Beach Diet?

Congrats to all of you who are doing SO well! Smiler

I have to share this little story from my past: several years ago I was on a diet (I think it was the Zone diet), where I had to behave 6 days a week. A portion was a handful or a deck of cards. So, a portion of protein, a portion of carbs, and pretty much all the salad you wanted. But, one day a week I could eat WHATEVER I WANTED!!! I LIVED for that day. I would go to bed the night before dreaming of cheeseburgers and milkshakes, etc., and I would have all my food planned out for the day. The funny thing is, my husband always joined me on my day off, but not the rest of the week, so he always refers to that as the diet where HE gained weight. Laugh

Lori's right Mike, sounds like the first thing you need to concentratr on is just getting back into the habbit of eating 'proper' food (asopposed to junk food) and not worry too much about whether it is the most optimally healthy choice - that can wait. And don't worry initially about amounts, big or small. The first thing I would suggest is get out there and buy yourself some boxes of cereal, any kind you fancy for now, and try and have a helping in the morning at least twice a week. And remember, cereal's not just for breakfast (even if it's called 'breakfast cereal') it is a tasty food at any time of day, so don't hesitate from having a helping any time you fancy it. You sound as though you may be well off the rails, so don't expect to get back on them in one fell swoop. Smiler
Slow and steady's the way to go. Get the eating habit back first, then we can start to tackle honing the eating to 'more healthy' if it's needed. Hug

Here's to all of us figuring out the issues, and working through them!

Sweet Summer: hope you are feeling better after your effective but unpleasant "weight loss method". Wink

Laugh at Lori's hubby joining in with her naughty food day.

Mike..yes i agree with the others, you must try and get some proper food down you for those vitamins, and to feel full. The cereal at any time of day, is a good idea, or maybe something else simple like jacket poatato with tuna or beans, a fave of mine because it is easy.

Sweet Summer... sorry to hear you have had a tummy bug, not a good way to lose weight.

I have been so hungry tonight, and daughter made a pizza... Eeker mamanged to get by with only one small piece though.

Seriously though, that's why it is suggested that when you weigh yourself it is as near as possible to the exact same circumstances each time. So that you can get a reasonably close comparison.

i get weighed at 8pm on a monday night in my work clothes Thumbs Up

1032 Eeker
492 for burger and approx 540 for fries.

Wow. I hope you're not eating much else, Mike...
Frowner
I think he had 2 packets of crisps for breakfast. Roll Eyes so that's 300 to 400 calories, depending on the size of bag.
