Mike, I wonder.... you seem like one of those people who might do better if you had a very specific menu handed to you, at least until you got rolling. You know what I mean? For breakfast you'll eat this, for mid-morning snack, you'll eat this, for lunch...blah blah blah. Have you ever looked at the South Beach Diet?

I have to share this little story from my past: several years ago I was on a diet (I think it was the Zone diet), where I had to behave 6 days a week. A portion was a handful or a deck of cards. So, a portion of protein, a portion of carbs, and pretty much all the salad you wanted. But, one day a week I could eat WHATEVER I WANTED!!! I LIVED for that day. I would go to bed the night before dreaming of cheeseburgers and milkshakes, etc., and I would have all my food planned out for the day. The funny thing is, my husband always joined me on my day off, but not the rest of the week, so he always refers to that as the diet where HE gained weight.
