I've just been to the gym Thumbs Up

did 15 mins on the bike alternating 1 min sprinting and 1 min norm cycling

600m on the rowing machine

5 mins brisk walk to tread mill

tomorrow going to try the same but add 10 mins on the cross trainer and slowly build up from there. Need to get my SIL to come along with me and work out a proper plan that includes weights for toning so WHEN (notice now using when not if) I get to my target weight i'll be nice and toned Big Grin

Feeling positive today. Had a good week, made out my meal plans for next week (that's my tip of today btw) so when i go shopping tomorrow i will only buy what i need.

I know where you are coming from on the work front though. My canteen is brilliant and going for the healthy eating thingy but there is also stodge on the menu. I now make my lunch for the next day while i am waiting for my tea to cook and invested in a lunch box sized coolie bag. I also bought these wonderful little tubs from bettware that have a little bowl thing in the middle with a lid for salad dressing or sauce or dip.

I guess it saddens me too, but I think it is generally accepted now that it is an addiction, and annoyingly one that we can't cut out completely, it would be easier if we could. I am a veggie so have cut out entire food groups, I gave up choc for a year, wouldn't touch a sweet if it has gelatine in it etc, so I would find totally giving food up easier.

But don't be embarrassed. If anyone dares to come in here and slag off the fatties, I will hunt them down and force feed them lettuce Ninja

I am going to join this thread but with a difference.

For me the key is exercise as I do have little control over the food I eat. Most of you know my meals are done by carers, so it needs to be quick as its 30min calls. I use a company called Wiltshire farm foods though and salady stuff when it is hot. Breakfast is some sort of cereal Alpen and Honey Nut Shredded wheat are currently on the go.

I swim every day or every other day when I am off uni and usually between 16 and 20 lengths. I will report daily on my pool activities. Please boot me up the bum when I am slacking.

Yay a support group... ty ty ... I am again on need to lose weight.. serial yo yoer here... I have joined Slimming World, not that I follow the diet I just need the discipline of getting on those scales once a week...
Its my fourth week and I'm 8.5lb lighter... I want to lose 2 stone before holiday in August..

I agree with all said on here... I am trying to drink more water but often find a glass of wine is in my hand instead !!!...

Breakfast I am eating either melon or pineapple, or I will have bacon, mushrooms, tomato and scrambled eggs.. I alway buy 'fry light' so I use no oil at all... and I have also started putting my food on a smaller plate... I am like many.. I eat so fast I wonder if I have dropped my food, cos its gone !!!
So my tip is more water.. smaller plates, and eat SLOWER .. even putting your fork down while you are chewing...

That's why I thought I would go for something small like a banana Frowner
Breakfast does NOT need to be a large amount of food. Ideally it should be eaten WITHIN 2 hours of getting up. This is because after approx. 2 hours your body will start preparing to enter famine/starvation mode. It will prepare to start breaking down your muscle for it's fuel and will be more likely to imediately store some of your next intake of food as fat.

A banana or a low fat yogurt will be fine. As your body gets more used to a bit of breakfast at the start of the day you might find that you start wanting a bit more, but don't worry if you don't. Smiler

I bought a 1.5 litre of water this morning and it is sitting in my fridge door, so every time I do the "I'll just go see what is in the fridge" thing, I am slugging the water back instead.

Okay, so it's probably working today since it's about 25 C but I do like water, so it might stop me picking.

i keep carrot sticks in the fridge for the same reason

When it comes down to it TV if it's something that helps you break the unhealthy addiction then it doesn't really matter how crazy it seems. Maybe starting to do it on a hot day like today is quite a good thing as it's making that first step a wee bit easier to do. Hug

They are good meals and would rather use them than ready meals, you get a balance.

ooh fab, i love this thread! i'm great at motivating other peeps but sometimes need a kick up the bot myself lol

i'm not overweight but could do with shedding a few pounds (about 6), but my biggest thing is i need to tone up again! i've been away this last week and busy after work when i got back so i've not exercised for over a week! i hate it, i feel so sluggish!

i'm going to make the effort, starting tmra and will record my exercise progress on here becuase i find if i tell the world i'm gonna do something, then i'll do it cos i hate looking like a pratt if i fail..

good luck to all you, let's work together to acheive our goals Thumbs Up

Hello Peeps Hug

Hoping all is going well in here Hug

Docs told me I have only a stone and a half to go before I'm in the "healthy" weight band which shocked me as I thought I had tons to take off for that Laugh Still want to head for another 2 stone on top of that then I can get back into my wedding dress. I looked good at that point of my life that's why making that dress as my goal made sense Big Grin
